The Church of the Nazarene is committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information with care, transparency, and integrity.

This Privacy Notice applies to your use of training.nazarene.org and any other Church of the Nazarene–hosted digital learning, training, or community platforms (collectively, the “Training Platform”).

Your use of the Training Platform is governed by:

• the Church of the Nazarene Privacy Policy, which applies generally to Church-operated websites and services; and

• the Training Platform Privacy Addendum, which appears in full below and provides additional information specific to training programs, learning communities, course participation, location data, and Church affiliation information.

The Training Platform Privacy Addendum supplements the main Privacy Policy and applies specifically to information collected through the Training Platform. In the event of any conflict, the Addendum controls with respect to training-related data.

By accessing or using the Training Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Notice, the Training Platform Privacy Addendum, and the Church of the Nazarene Privacy Policy.

Training Platform Privacy Addendum

This Training Platform Privacy Addendum (the “Addendum”) supplements the Church of the Nazarene Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) and applies specifically to your use of training.nazarene.org and any other Church of the Nazarene–hosted digital learning, training, or community platforms (collectively, the “Training Platform”).

This Addendum is intended to provide additional transparency regarding the collection, use, and handling of personal data in connection with training programs, learning communities, and related services. Except as expressly stated herein, the Privacy Policy remains fully applicable.

1. Scope and Relationship to the Privacy Policy

This Addendum applies only to personal data collected through the Training Platform. In the event of a conflict between this Addendum and the Privacy Policy, this Addendum shall control with respect to Training Platform data.

By accessing or using the Training Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Addendum in conjunction with the Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect Through the Training Platform

In addition to information described in the Privacy Policy, the Church of the Nazarene may collect the following categories of information through the Training Platform:

• Account Information: name, email address, username, organizational affiliation, role, and login credentials;

• Affiliation Information: district, region, educational institution, ministry role, or other affiliation with the Church of the Nazarene or related organizations;

• Location Information: country, region, or general geographic location provided by the participant or derived from technical data, used for administrative, reporting, safeguarding, and contextual purposes;

• Training Records: course enrollments, participation history, assessments, progress, completion status, and certificates (where applicable);

• Community Information: posts, comments, discussion contributions, and related metadata within training communities;

• Technical and Usage Data: log data, device and browser information, IP address, and activity related to use of the Training Platform.

The Church of the Nazarene does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of sixteen through the Training Platform.

3. How We Use Training Platform Information

Information collected through the Training Platform is used for purposes including:

• Providing, administering, and improving training programs;

• Facilitating participation in courses and learning communities;

• Monitoring progress and completion;

• Issuing certificates or confirmations of participation;

• Moderating communities and enforcing applicable Terms of Use;

• Ensuring platform security, integrity, and appropriate use;

• Communicating with participants regarding training-related matters.

Personal data collected through the Training Platform is not sold, rented, or traded to third parties.

4. Community Visibility and Shared Information

The Training Platform may include moderated discussion forums or learning communities. Information you share within these spaces may be visible to:

• Other authorized participants in the same course or community;

• Designated moderators and administrators;

• Church of the Nazarene personnel responsible for training oversight.

Participants are responsible for exercising discretion when sharing personal or sensitive information. While the Church of the Nazarene encourages respectful handling of shared information, it cannot guarantee confidentiality of content posted within Communities.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

The Church of the Nazarene uses trusted third-party service providers to support the operation of the Training Platform, including hosting, analytics, and technical support services.

These providers process personal data solely on behalf of the Church of the Nazarene, under contractual obligations to protect confidentiality and security, and are not permitted to use personal data for their own purposes.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Training Platform may use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Maintain authenticated sessions;

• Support core platform functionality;

• Understand usage patterns to improve training delivery.

You may control cookie preferences through your browser settings; however, disabling cookies may limit certain Training Platform features.

7. Data Retention

Training Platform data may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Administer training programs;

• Maintain records of participation and completion;

• Support ministry, organizational, or accreditation needs;

• Comply with legal, regulatory, or safeguarding obligations.

Community content and training records may remain accessible after account inactivity or closure, subject to reasonable administrative and legal requirements.

8. International Use

The Training Platform is used globally. By participating, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where the Church of the Nazarene or its service providers operate, consistent with applicable law.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Your rights regarding personal data collected through the Training Platform are described in the Privacy Policy. Requests related to access, correction, or deletion of Training Platform data may be submitted using the contact information below.

10. Changes to This Addendum

The Church of the Nazarene reserves the right to update this Addendum as necessary. Material changes will be posted on the Training Platform, and continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Addendum.
